Equity (ยอดเงินสุทธิ)

Equity is your account balance plus or minus the floating profit or loss on trades that are still open.

Equity shows what your trading account is worth right now, if you count your open trades at the current market price.

Formula:

Equity = Balance + Floating profit − Floating loss

Balance is the money in your account from deposits, withdrawals and closed trades. Floating profit/loss is the gain or loss on trades you have not closed yet. It changes every second as the price moves.

Example

Your balance is $1,000. You open a trade, and the price moves against you so the trade is down $120.

  • Balance: $1,000 (does not change while the trade is open)
  • Floating loss: −$120
  • Equity: $1,000 − $120 = $880

If the price then moves in your favour and the trade shows +$50, your equity becomes $1,000 + $50 = $1,050.

When you close all trades, there is no floating profit or loss left, so Equity and Balance become the same number.

Why it matters

Equity is the number that really shows your account's health. Margin level, Margin Call and Stop Out are all based on Equity, not Balance. A common beginner mistake is to look only at Balance and think the account is safe, while a large floating loss has already pulled Equity down close to the Stop Out level. Always check Equity when you have open trades.
