Copy Trading (คัดลอกการเทรด)

Copy Trading lets your account automatically copy the trades of another trader, so their buys and sells are also placed in your account.

Copy Trading is a service where you choose another trader to follow. When that trader opens or closes a trade, the same action happens automatically in your account. You do not have to analyse the market yourself, but you are still the owner of the account and the risk.

Most platforms copy trades in proportion to account size.

Simple example

  • The trader you copy has an account of 5,000 USD and opens a trade of 0.10 Lot.
  • You allocate 500 USD to copy them. That is 1/10 of their account size.
  • Your account opens a trade of 0.01 Lot (0.10 × 1/10).

If the trader's trade loses 1% of their account, your copied trade also loses about 1% of your 500 USD, which is roughly 5 USD. Small differences can happen because of delays or price differences.

Why it matters

Copy trading is not a guarantee of profit. A trader who did well in the past can still lose in the future. Losses are copied just like wins.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Copying a trader only because of recent good results, without checking how much risk they take.
  • Putting in more money than you can afford to lose.
  • Not setting a limit, such as a maximum loss for the copied amount.
  • Forgetting to check the account and leaving it unattended.
