ECN Account (บัญชี ECN)

An ECN Account shows very tight "raw" spreads taken from market prices and charges a separate commission on each trade.

An ECN Account is a type of trading account where the price you see is close to the raw market price, with very little or no markup added to the spread. Instead of hiding its fee in the spread, the broker charges a separate commission, usually per Lot traded. ECN stands for Electronic Communication Network, a system that matches buy and sell prices from many liquidity providers.

A simple example

Say you trade 1 Lot of EURUSD. Here, 1 pip is worth about $10 per Lot.

  • ECN Account: spread 0.1 pip = about $1, plus a commission of $6 per Lot (round turn) = $7 total cost.
  • Standard account: spread 1.3 pips = about $13, no commission = $13 total cost.

These numbers are made up for teaching. Real spreads and commissions change by market conditions and account type. Some brokers charge commission per side (open and close separately), so always check how it is quoted.

Why it matters

An ECN Account makes the cost of a trade easier to see, because spread and commission are listed separately. It is often used by people who trade frequently or in larger sizes, since the total cost can be lower.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Looking only at the low spread and forgetting the commission.
  • Thinking "ECN" means no costs, or that it makes trades more likely to win. It only changes how costs are charged.
  • Not calculating the full cost per trade before choosing an account.
